Grosset Gaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 750 ml
A benchmark Clare Valley red, Grosset Gaia is a sophisticated blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc sourced from the high-altitude Gaia Vineyard, planted on rocky, windswept slopes. Named after the Greek goddess of the earth, this wine reflects both the terroir and Jeffrey Grosset’s precise, minimalist winemaking.
The vintage typically benefits from warm, dry conditions with cool nights, producing fruit of exceptional purity, fine tannin structure, and natural acidity. Deep crimson in colour, it opens with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, violets, and graphite, supported by subtle cedar and herbal nuances from the Cabernet Franc. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with concentrated dark fruit, savoury spice, and fine, chalky tannins leading to a long, elegant, and structured finish.
Cellaring potential: 15–20 years, with decanting recommended when young. A distinguished and age-worthy Clare Valley red that combines power, finesse, and exceptional regional character.
